Which business language training suits you?
Online learning
The Square Mile offers all it’s programmes online and in-company. A 30 hour course means 30 hours of face-to-face contact with your trainer, either in a real or virtual classroom. We are platform-independent and work with Teams, Zoom, Hangouts and Webex to bring trainer and learners together. Virtual white-boards, breakout rooms and online materials sourced from the internet facilitate relevant, interactive lessons that will have you speaking better Dutch, English, French or Spanish in no time.
Individual programme
The ultimate besproke programe. An individual language training programme is wholly centered around you, the participant and based on your level, objectives, background, context, schedule and learning style. Together with your trainer, you invest in the development, delivery and consolidation of language learning that meets your exact needs within your specific context. An individual programme can be delivered as an intensive, semi-intensive or weekly basis. We generally work in programmes of 30 to 40 hours with individual sessions of between 2 and 4 hours. Individual courses can be delivered at your work, home or an external location.
Groups of colleagues
Many of our clients choose for in-company group programmes. Together with between 2 and 6 colleagues, you follow an interactive, challenging programme tailored to your needs. You learn not only from the trainer, but from each other and a commonly expressed additional benefit is teambuilding, that the participants get to know each other much better in a non-work environment. A further benefit of a group programme is that it encourages continued consolidation in the workplace, the 70-20-10 principle.
Group programmes are always followed in-company with colleagues from your own company and can be organised on an intensive, semi-intensive or weekly basis. Group programmes may also be supplemented by tutorials or e-learning. Programmes generally last 40 hours, spread across 6 to 12 weeks.
Workshops
Workshops are generally used to focus on specific language areas and refresh existing knowledge i.e. presenting in English, e-mail writing in German or correct Dutch spelling. We organise workshops for small groups of colleagues, generally in-company and between 4 and 8 hours each workshop.
Immersion course
Occasionally our clients need language training at short notice. Peacekeepers who are seconded abroad at short notice or Dutch language courses for expats who arrive in the Netherlands and need to get started quickly. The Square Mile can provide immersion courses at short notice for Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish . The exact programme is designed in consultation with the participant and typically will take place over an initial 2 intensive weeks followed by weekly or twice-weekly sessions in person or by Teams to consolidate and encourage further learning.
Distance learning
Continued investment in language training is vital in order to consolidate learning. We support you with tips, tricks and ideas which you can implement yourself. Additionally, we offer Teams sessions for speaking and distance writing lessons using e-mail and Google Drive. Distance learning also makes an excellent supplement to group programmes. The group learns together with the trainer on location and each individual follows a weekly distance learning session of 30 to 60 minutes on Teams or Drive to hone in on specific issues.
