Who is eligible for the subsidy?
The language training subsidy from Handel Groeit is available to companies affiliated with the fund that adhere to the relevant Collective Labour Agreement (CAO). To determine if your company is eligible, please consult the subsidy criteria established by the fund.
Why provide subsidies for language training?
Handel Groeit actively encourages professional development within the fruit and vegetable sector. In addition to language training, subsidies are available for quality management, food safety, marketing, leadership, and logistics. Business language proficiency provides tangible value to the industry, and that value is now being incentivized.
Which courses qualify for the subsidy?
To qualify for the subsidy, you must enroll with a language institute with a proven track record of quality. The Square Mile is an approved language provider for Handel Groeit and meets all their requirements. If you have a specific course in mind and want to check its eligibility, please complete the fund’s checklist.

- Dutch: 40%
- English: 30%
- French: 30%
- German: 30%
- Spanish: 30%
- Polish: 30%
How do I apply?
If you would like to apply for a subsidy for a Dutch or English course, or any other language training provided by The Square Mile, please complete the Handel Groeit registration form before your training course begins.
How do I claim the subsidy?
You can claim your subsidy once the training program for which you requested funding has been completed. To do so, please use the Handel Groeit claim form. Ensure that all supporting documentation specified on the form is included. Claims must be submitted within two months of your final day of training at The Square Mile.
