Who is eligible for the training budget?

Anyone working in the transport and logistics sector can apply for the training budget. Please check if you meet the following two criteria:

  1. Employment: You have a permanent or temporary contract for at least 24 hours per week.
    • Exception: Do you have a contract for fewer than 24 hours per week, but have you been employed for at least 2 years? You may still be eligible for the training budget. Contact us to discuss the possibilities!
  2. SOOB Contribution: You contribute to SOOB. You can easily check this on your payslip or via the frequently asked questions on the STL Website. Please check terms and conditions here.

Why language training in logistics?

Effective communication is the foundation of a safe working environment. Whether it involves understanding safety instructions in the warehouse, accurately processing waybills at the border, or coordinating between drivers and planners: proficiency in the relevant language prevents incidents and increases efficiency. STL encourages this professional craftsmanship by including language training in its subsidized offerings.

Which courses qualify?

The training course must contribute to your craftsmanship or broad employability within the sector. The Square Mile provides practical language training that aligns directly with the daily routines of drivers, logistics staff, and planners.

How do I apply for the budget?

Applying for the budget is simple via the STL portal:

  1. Check your budget: Log in to STL to see the amount available to you.
  2. Choose your training: Contact The Square Mile for a tailored training proposal.
  3. Request approval: Submit your application to STL before the training begins.

How to claim the subsidy

After the language training is completed, the subsidy will be processed according to the current regulations of the STL training desk. Ensure you keep all necessary supporting documents, such as a certificate or attendance record, for final approval.
