Online Dutch Courses for the Business & Scientific Community 

The Square Mile offers high-quality Dutch group courses for members of the business and scientific community and their partners starting twice a year. Participants learn Dutch through Zoom and in person and meet peers from other business organisations, helping them to network and settle in the Netherlands.

We offer a range of courses for beginner to intermediate learners, in small groups of 6-8 participantsLessons are weekly, online via Zoom.

Once we have received your application, we will contact you for a telephone intake to assess your level and allocate you to the most appropriate group. If you’d like an estimate of your level, complete our Self Assessment Tool. Courses take place on the following dates and times:

An online Dutch course cost €625 including intake, excluding books, payable before the course starts in order to guarantee a place. All courses are 30 hours (15 x 2) in duration and exempt from btw.

Zoom, the virtual classroom

You meet your fellow participants and trainer live in your online Dutch course through the virtual Zoom classroom. Our virtual classroom is equipped with a whiteboard and breakout rooms to stimulate interaction. We currently offer Dutch language courses at 4 levels. Below is a brief explanation of what you can expect at each level:

  • Online course, Dutch for beginners
    Dutch for beginners is an online course and is suitable if you have no knowledge of the Dutch language. During this course you will take your first steps and learn to introduce yourself, share simple basic information and recognise daily language around you.
  • A-1 online Dutch course
    The A-1 online Dutch course is suitable if you have very little knowledge of the Dutch language and introduces you to more daily vocabulary, structures and sentences as well as stimulating you to use your basic skills and knowledge to best effect. The A-1 online Dutch course focuses on simple vocabulary and grammar, with an emphasis on reading, speaking, listening and writing skills in an everyday context.
  • A-2 online Dutch course
    The A-2 online Dutch course is suitable if you have a basic knowledge of the Dutch language and if you can manage reasonably well in everyday activities. The course focuses on expanding your knowledge and skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking. The A2 online Dutch course increases your vocabulary and ability to communicate across a broader spectrum of situations.
  • B-1 online Dutch course
    The B-1 online Dutch course is suitable if you have a basic knowledge of the Dutch language but still want to dot the i’s and cross the t’s. You can already manage reasonably well in daily life, but you would like to improve your fluency and confidence.
